Dinner at da Cesare
Acrylic on Canvas 2005
22"w x 18"h

Da Cesare, a restaurant in Alta Langa, named after owner,
Cesare Giaccone, a regionally and internationally
famous chef for many decades.
Our first dinner there was in the fall of 2001,
shortly after 911 and Cesare came out of the kitchen
when he heard there were Americans in the dining room
to wish us and all Americans well.
He told us he was leaving in a few days to fly to
New York to volunteer along with other chefs to cook
for the rescue workers.
