Artist Statement

I am currently living in Piemonte, Italy.
My husband and I fell in love with the area 10 years ago
on our first trip here to see the wineries
and the area where our favorite wine’s come from.

Our love of wine brought us here, but the people,
the wine and the landscape kept us coming back.

I, with my art background, was taken in by the beauty of the old cellars
and the dramatic vineyards clinging to the hills.

I have been painting professionally since I graduated college in 1994,
but my wine theme really took off after we started traveling to wine country.
I painted my first cellar painting in 1998,
“Three Glasses at Pira” and have never stopped.
A big influence on my art is post-impressionism and Van Gogh.
I have a painterly style with lots of color and movement.
I never put people in my paintings, I want the room and
the objects in it to speak and tell the story.

I have painted cellars from around the world but I keep
coming back to Piemonte and hope to stay for a long time.

Notizie sull'Artista

Attualmente abito a Treiso in Italia(Piemonte) con mio marito.
  Ci siamo innamorati della zona 10 anni fa
durante il nostro primo viaggio qui
a vedere le cantine e i luoghi da dove provenivano i nostri vini preferiti.

Il nostro amore per il vino ci ha portati qui ma la gente,
il vino e il panorama ci hanno fatto tornare ancora.

Sono stata colpita dalla bellezza delle vecchie cantine
e degli spettacolari vigneti che si aggrappano alle colline.

Ho dipinto il mio primo “Cellar Painting” nel 1998,
“Three Glasses at Pira” e non ho più smesso.

Ho dipinto le cantine di tutto il mondo ma continuo
a venire ancora in Piemonte e spero di starci per lungo tempo.
